Pseudoelastic pure P-mode wave equation

We have developed a pseudoelastic wave equation describing pure pressure waves propagating in elastic media. The pressure-mode (P-mode) uses all of the parameters (such as density and P- S-wave velocities). It produces same amplitude variation with offset (AVO) effects PP-reflections computed by conventional equation. Because new is free S-waves, it does not require finer grids for simulation. This leads to significant computational speedup when ratio velocities large. test performance our method on simple synthetic model high-velocity contrasts. admitted P-mode highly consistent that associated over large range incidence angles. further verify method’s robustness accuracy using more complex realistic 2D salt from SEG Advanced Modeling Program. ideal AVO behavior advantage make good candidate forward simulation engine performing full-waveform inversion, especially marine streamer data sets.
